 Great product if you take your time!, This review is from: Mountain Hardwear Men's Seta Strapless Running Gaiter (Misc.) After reading the review about the adhesive not sticking I decided I needed to write a review to give these gaiters justice.That being said I am an ultra runner and bought these for snow/muddy runs and was looking for something that didn't have to loop under my foot. What I figured out that works great is if you take a new utility knife and cut off the uneven contours of the back of your shoe, leaving a flat area for the adhesive to bond to. After I cut off the bumps/ridges on the back of my shoe I used a hair dryer to heat up the shoe and the velcro to make sure there was no moisture on the surface, and the glue was pliable. Once I stuck it on I've had no problems to this day with it. I used it in a muddy/snowy 100k race and several other harsh runs with no signs of the velcro coming off. So in a nutshell, I love these gaiters. But, I would take your time putting the velcro on. At the very least wash your shoe off with alcohol before applying. 1 of 3 people found the following review helpful  Adhesive velcro didn't work, This review is from: Mountain Hardwear Men's Seta Strapless Running Gaiter (Misc.) I tried these things, which I thought were too expensive in the first place. Unfortunately, the adhesive on the back of the Velcro-like material that they use to keep it in place on the heel, did not work and Gorilla Glue and Super Glue wouldn't dry for it to stick on the back of the shoes either. So I just had to take them back. I would have liked the material but Mountain Hardware needs to come up with something that will actually work with various running shoes. |
