They are called a "knee" pant and look like they come to the knee in the picture. But they are actually a regular length pant that you can roll up and snap at the mid calf point. I'm 5'10" and these are too short on me for a long pant, and hit me at the mid calf rolled up. Not even close to my knee. They are great quality and I'm keeping them. They are made of a stretchy light-weight fabric that when on, hardly feels like they are on at all. Yet, the fabric is still fairly rugged and can withstand the rigors of hiking. The fit and design are very flattering to people like me who have an athletic build, with muscular thighs. The design includes a seam which is placed strategically to hide some of your extra weight. The waistband is stretchy, and has a cord which allows you to make them as tight or loose as you want them. The waist also sits slightly below the waistline, but it is not a low-cut capri. The base of the capris has a pull cord that allows a different look. And finally, the pocket location is great. While it could be slightly bigger, and perhaps another pocket placed on the other leg, it fits a small wallet, keys, or chapstick, or anything else small you need access to.
