This review is from: Brinkmann 842-0010-0 1-Burner Propane Camp Stove (Kitchen) I actually got this as a free gift for a shipping mistake that had occured. I use this for smelting lead outside for casting bullets. For this application, I couldn't ask for anything better. It gets abused and keeps on working flawlessly. It seems to be efficient as long as not left on the 'high' setting for prolonged periods. It would be a fine item to use if camping out of a vehicle, but if hiking, I would research something lighter. I've wanted a propane stove to use in the cockpit of my boat, to perk coffee and do some light cooking in the open instead of in the cabin. It needed to have a small footprint so it would fit on the removable cockpit table. That led me to check a bunch of single burner stoves. I wanted propane instead of butane so the fuel would be compatible with the grill I use to barbeque at the dock. I've been stymied until now because none of these small stoves has any wind protection. That's a must-have on a boat. I was excited when I saw this one- it has a windscreen (doesn't look like much, but it seems to work) for the burner and looked pretty stable/sturdy to boot (also important on a rocking boat). Mine arrived today. To give it an acid test right out of the box, I put 8 measuring cups of water in a 12-inch uncovered fry pan- that's a lot of water and surface area to contend with, but...
