Many eggs, sausages, hashbrowns and pancakes have been cooked on mine over a two burner coleman liquid fuel stove and I've never had anything stick. The only thing that could ever be improved with this basic design would be to add a grease sink on one side or a corner for bacon grease. At times the bacon grease can get close to going overboard, so I have to periodically soak up some of the grease with paper towels while cooking bacon. Cleanup is always easy and the aluminum griddle is easy to transport. Just watch your heat and don't get carried away with over heating one side or the other or the aluminum may warp, but I have had no signs of warping with mine. Also be sure to use plastic spatulas to protect the non-stick coating. The best part of the Cohlan griddle is that most of the ones I've seen say "Made in the USA" on them. I only wish there were a way to secure it to the burners, as it tends to warp somewhat with temperature differences, and it is difficult to hold the pan while wielding a spatula. Other than that, there's plenty of space to cook bacon, sausage, eggs, french toast or pancakes, in pretty much any combination. It's nice to be able to sit down at the table at the same time with my wife, rather than having to take turns with whatever is done while waiting for the other. Lately, I'm the french toast and sausage chef...Amazing price for something this useful, and the non-stick truly is - just wish it was the ceramic, but I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, the weight of the thing is impressive - I was glad I didn't have to pay by the pound! |
