3.0 out of 5 stars Does the job but..., August 22, 2006

...there are some problems I found that need to mentioned.

First off, I need to say that this is the first camping stove I've ever used, so I'm not sure if all stoves have the difficulties I found on this one.

The burner dials were EXTREMELY sensitive to touch. I found that I was turning it up too high, then when trying to turn it down, I would turn it off accidentally. Again, I'm not sure if all camp stoves are this way, but being in my 30s, I've had plenty of experience on stoves and grills, and no controls I've used on any grill were ever this sensitive. I would like to see a product like this have a dial similar to a gas grill, where you have to press the dial and turn it to get the gas to flow and not flow. On gas grill knobs, you can turn them to low and not worry about turning the entire gas off. Not so with this product. I found that I was constantly having to bend over and check the burner very carefully as I was adjusting the flame so that I did... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Same problem with regulating the flame, August 31, 2007

I have to rate this stove high for reliablity and ease of use, it does work very well. However, I can't seem to get a "low" flame, like the other reviewer turning the flame control knob to lower the flame results in no flame at all and a re-lighting, even on low it's high enough to burn food quickly. Overall a good stove though. I was hoping to find out if the knob can be somehow tightened, I plan on contacting Coleman for some answers.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great, basic, camping stove, October 30, 2008
By
Coleman PerfectFlow 2-Burner Stove Camp Stove We've used this stove for several years, from beach camping to 9,000 feet at Huntington Lake in California's Sierra Mountains. The burners are wide enough apart to accommodate several pots at the same time and, even at altitude, the burners will heat things up quickly. Like most gas stoves, though, it's tough to get a low flame in order to simmer food.
